October wedding at Pelham House

What a gorgeous time of year to get married! India and Tymal were married on October 6th at Pelham House in Lewes. Pelham House has recently undergone a complete transformational refurbishment and looks really beautiful! There’s an Art Deco vibe with lots of palm plants and hints of gold throughout in the decor which really complements the Autumnal colour scheme that India and Tymal had chosen for their wedding. We really got involved with the season, using plenty of Autumnal foliages mixed with some rich burgundy reds and lots of paler nudes and blush pinks too. I absolutely love Autumn so am always really pleased to be able to really fully go for it with the seasonal treats that October brings. I was lucky enough to be able to get plenty of British grown still too including snowberries, dahlias, amaranthus, strawflowers, lisianthus, astrantia and all kinds of different textured grasses.

Thank you so much to Tim Lander Photography who has shared some sneak peaks from the wedding with me.

Below are my own photos from the day.

The bridal and bridesmaids bouquets above were filled with different Autumn tones and textures with plenty of Irish grown eucalyptus too. We used the most beautiful scented garden roses called Cafe Latte which is the central muted mauve/pink rose you can see above along with gorgeous cafe au lait dahlias and quicksand roses

Thanks India and Tymal for choosing me to be part of your day! What a gorgeous October wedding. I am looking forward to being back at Pelham House next wedding season.

Colourful September Flowers

Moroccan inspired colour scheme

Lemeece and Jon tied the knot just last week (on my birthday!) and chose the most gorgeous rich jewel toned colour palette, perfect for this time of year. Rich magentas and berry shades were paired with burnt oranges and bright fresh greenery. The extra treat was almost all the flowers were locally grown in Sussex ❤️

Below is a picture of the Sussex Flower Farm where I got a lot of these flowers from, it’s a lovely way to spend your time choosing exactly which blooms you want to have in your designs. I chose dahlia, hot pink cosmos, geranium foliage (which smells amazing!) agastache (which also smells amazing!!), fennel, antirrhinum, calendula and strawflowers. There are also some Dutch flowers in this bouquet too, hydrangea, roses, eucalyptus parvifolia and pittasporum

Autumn flowers at Patricks Barn Chiddinglye – Vivian & Sam

Rich berry shades and rustic foliage

I truly love working with the seasons and I’m pretty sure Autumn is my favourite (but ask me again in Spring and I might tell you something different!)  Vivian and Sam tied the knot in the beautiful gardens of the Chiddinglye estate, a gorgeous farm tucked away in Sussex with Patrick’s Barn ready and waiting onsite to hold a fabulous reception in. There’s the added bonus of having your food freshly prepared right next door by Becky who runs The Garden Chef (I strongly urge you to try her chocolate brownies, so good! Becky very kindly kept me fed whilst I was setting up!)

Vivian and Sam wanted the focus of their wedding to be seasonal blooms and full of luscious foliages, I was pretty happy to be allowed to get stuck in to rich Autumnal colours. Dahlias, amaranthus, euphorbia, roses, crocosmia, the most gorgeous colour cerise vanda orchids, a whole load of green goodness including asparagus and sword ferns and eucalyptus were all used to create a natural wild look with a pop of colour.

Vivian’s bouquet was a natural looking, cascading posy full of gorgeous greens and rich Autumn oranges and pinks.

The ceremony took place in the gardens and it was touch and go with the weather – but they did it and it looked amazing!

Patricks barn looking awesome, I love the colour of the lanterns against the flowers. The clever folk at Not Your Average I Do provided and installed the lanterns and fairy lights which really adds to the atmosphere of the barn.

I really enjoyed working on this wedding, congratulations to Vivian and Sam and thank you for choosing Bettie Rose!
