Colourful September Flowers

Moroccan inspired colour scheme

Lemeece and Jon tied the knot just last week (on my birthday!) and chose the most gorgeous rich jewel toned colour palette, perfect for this time of year. Rich magentas and berry shades were paired with burnt oranges and bright fresh greenery. The extra treat was almost all the flowers were locally grown in Sussex ❤️

Below is a picture of the Sussex Flower Farm where I got a lot of these flowers from, it’s a lovely way to spend your time choosing exactly which blooms you want to have in your designs. I chose dahlia, hot pink cosmos, geranium foliage (which smells amazing!) agastache (which also smells amazing!!), fennel, antirrhinum, calendula and strawflowers. There are also some Dutch flowers in this bouquet too, hydrangea, roses, eucalyptus parvifolia and pittasporum

Same Sex Wedding Inspiration on Brighton Seafront

Brighton Harbour Hotel Wedding

Very recently the Brighton Harbour Hotel emerged, taking over the Umi hotel they have refurbished and made a fabulous high end boutique hotel. Together with a team of amazing Sussex suppliers I took part in a photoshoot to show off the newly opened hotel and to showcase its wedding facilities. Harbour hotel is a great location for a wedding, right on the seafront it is perfect for an amazing view and also to get some fun wedding shots done on beach!

The photoshoot celebrates Brighton and its diversity, with a same sex couple both dressed in gorgeous gowns from Mode Bridal in Hove and both holding romantic cascading bridal bouquets by me. We wanted this shoot to be show a fun relaxed wedding but still with touches of glamour and luxury – not all low key weddings have to be in a barn or a tipi!

The Harbour Hotel also has an AMAZING luxury spa and is the perfect way to start your honeymoon.

This was an early Autumn shoot and the bouquets had loads of seasonal goodies in, Autumn is a great time for a wedding as there are loads of fabulous rich colours and textures to be had. The bouquets are made up of, spray roses, lisianthus, amaranthus, alstroemeria, seeded eucalyptus, astrantia, sweet avalanche roses, alliums, crocosmia seed heads, cymbidium orchids and asparagus fern – what a treat to work with!

Blush was one if the favourite wedding colours last season and it seems to still be a popular one, teaming pale blush tones with stronger maroons, plums and burgundy colours is a beautiful way to keep with the current trends but also works really well to celebrate Autumn.

The wedding room has the most gorgeous stained glass window which really adds to the light and bright feel to the room. Sorrel and Steve set up a beautiful display of vintage bottles and candlesticks which worked really nicely placed along the window sill.

Thanks to every one who was involved!

Autumn flowers at Patricks Barn Chiddinglye – Vivian & Sam

Rich berry shades and rustic foliage

I truly love working with the seasons and I’m pretty sure Autumn is my favourite (but ask me again in Spring and I might tell you something different!)  Vivian and Sam tied the knot in the beautiful gardens of the Chiddinglye estate, a gorgeous farm tucked away in Sussex with Patrick’s Barn ready and waiting onsite to hold a fabulous reception in. There’s the added bonus of having your food freshly prepared right next door by Becky who runs The Garden Chef (I strongly urge you to try her chocolate brownies, so good! Becky very kindly kept me fed whilst I was setting up!)

Vivian and Sam wanted the focus of their wedding to be seasonal blooms and full of luscious foliages, I was pretty happy to be allowed to get stuck in to rich Autumnal colours. Dahlias, amaranthus, euphorbia, roses, crocosmia, the most gorgeous colour cerise vanda orchids, a whole load of green goodness including asparagus and sword ferns and eucalyptus were all used to create a natural wild look with a pop of colour.

Vivian’s bouquet was a natural looking, cascading posy full of gorgeous greens and rich Autumn oranges and pinks.

The ceremony took place in the gardens and it was touch and go with the weather – but they did it and it looked amazing!

Patricks barn looking awesome, I love the colour of the lanterns against the flowers. The clever folk at Not Your Average I Do provided and installed the lanterns and fairy lights which really adds to the atmosphere of the barn.

I really enjoyed working on this wedding, congratulations to Vivian and Sam and thank you for choosing Bettie Rose!
