Colourful Flower Inspiration
I have just arrived back from my summer break, except for it happened in winter. Summer holidays aren’t really permitted when you are a wedding florist and to be honest I’m quite alright with that. Brighton is a lovely place to be when the sun is shining and the weather is warm, we have the beach and loads of lovely green parks. But a lovely place in January it is not, howling winds and horizontal rain has been the main feature this winter and it felt pretty fabulous to be jetting off to Thailand for two weeks for some sun and relaxation.
Don’t worry I’m not going to subject you to all of my holiday snaps, I’m going to try and keep this relevant and fill your screens with beautiful flowers and colours!
So who is having a destination wedding full of beautiful tropical flowers? Thailand is an amazing place with really wonderful welcoming people and did I mention more orchids than you could ever wish for!
Of course I made sure we took a trip to Pak Klong Talad – Bangkok Flower Market I just couldn’t believe the abundance of orchids, there were huge overflowing baskets full (I wanted to dive in…)
Everywhere you turned there were people making dainty little arrangements and garlands to be taken as offerings to the Buddhist temples.
More orchids just growing naturally in the garden. I love using this variety, they look fabulous in wedding bouquets and arrangements and give a great pop of colour.
Checking out the greenery at the local market.
Obligatory cheesy photo of me and the orchids.
I hope these pictures have brought some sunshine into dreary February for you. Now time to plan the next trip…..
